Anyone cutting back on what you buy at the supermarket?
Walked into my local coop today to find that they had loads of high price items on their 'eat by date', such as lamb shoulders, sirloin steak, premium chickens, posh bacon and sausages, vegan bollocks etc in the bargain bin, reduced considerably. For example, two 8oz sirloin steaks, £4, artisan bacon, 79p, normally £4, the lamb a third of the normal price.

This tells me that people in my town are very worried indeed.

PS. I bought loads and stuck it all in the freezer, apart from the steaks, which I will let mature for a week or so.

I’ve had to stop buying foie gras and white truffle and porcini mushroom pate from Fortnum & Mason. I’m going to try to source cheaper versions from Asda.

Yep. liked my lamb but not at the price they are now! Don't do anything now if I'm honest, bar shopping for food and paying the bills!

My own brand weetabix from Aldi are stable for the moment. Prices holding at 3p per biscuit.

Porridge the same, 46p for a packet that last two weeks.

Will check on their champers today and get back to you.

As a mature student I live on Pot Noodle. Price seems to be stable at the moment in Lidl.

The harder it gets the more accepting we will be to Govt measures including UBI

There is only 7.5yrs left for “we the peoples” to reach their objectives.

Things are going to get a hell of a lot worse until they get ‘better’

Nothing will go back to normal

The price of eating out is going through the roof, must be killing COYI when he’s wining and dining his latest squeeze (prostitute).

I just use a food bank, saved £100s. Although the stuff being given in has gone down in quality so I might have to start shopping at Waitrose again.

Bloody recession.

That bacon must be ancient to be in the use by bin.

If you voted leave, you voted for this. No moaning now.

It’s about time people cut down, far too much waste anyway, restrict meat to 4 days per week and buy seasonal British food

Voting leave has nothing to do with it, filling politicians pockets with money was. This govt is shocking and can be held responsible

I always make minor modifications based on price, season and having variety in my meals and diet.

Also get three Hello Fresh meals for the middle of the week.

So no haven't made any major changes

Everything becoming more expensive was one of the obvious outcomes from the leave vote. You were all ok with it back then, when you all had your little flags out and were ignoring experts etc.
